Henna Design

Host a henna party!

Henna painting is an ancient art where the dried leaves of the henna plant are crushed into a powder, then made into a paste that is applied to the body to safely dye the skin. Henna painting is largely improvisational and intuitive.  Symbols and images are subject to the originality and imagination of the artist.

I prepare and mix my henna paste using all natural ingredients.  There are no artificial or harmful dyes used in my product.  Most applications last between 10-14 days.

From the simple "bracelet" designs, to palm or hand-and-arm, or even intricate full-leg coverage, henna is a beautiful and creative way to showcase living art.  Choose a pattern from my collection, provide your own artwork, or leave the decision to the henna designer!

Hourly rates are negotiable, as I am always looking to suit the needs of every client.  Book your private session or party today!

How long will the henna stain last?
Henna normally will last for about 2 weeks. However, it also depends on how well it is taken care of. I suggest keeping the design away from water for at least 24 hours after application. Using Eucalyptus oil darkens the stain.

Each person's skin stains differently. Each body part stains differently. Henna stains better on thick, dry and more alkaline skin. The palms and the feet stain the darkest and last the longest. As the skin gets thinner and more oily on the upper arm, upper back, stomach, chest, neck and thigh the stain will be weaker.

Also, more the henna stain rubs on the clothes the faster it will fade. Rubbing or friction against clothes will cause an exfoliation effect resulting in fading of the henna stain sooner.
